Kevin Cook Orthodontics offers the latest 3D technology for our patients and for patients of other doctors who might be referred here. This is iCat Cone Beam Computerized Tomography (CBCT) imaging, sometimes called 3D radiographs or X-rays. CBCT gives us the ability to take 3D images of the teeth, jaws, bones, and facial structures at lower costs and with less energy than a typical CT scan used in hospitals.

Although we do not use 3D imaging for every patient, it provides us the opportunity for improved diagnosis for our patients with specific needs. Especially in cases of impacted teeth, dental implants, and surgical treatment, as well as more complex cases. Understandably, you may have questions about exposure to these types of X-rays.

Yes it is worth it. As long as the result is that you have whiter teeth.
